Cybernetix to equip SKARV Field FPSO with an Anchor Leg Load Monitoring System
08/07/09
Cybernetix is pleased to announce the signature of a new contract with Single Buoy Moorings (SBM) related to the procurement of integrity monitoring equipment for the BP Norway operated SKARV field, located in the Norwegian Sea. Cybernetix will supply its Load Monitoring System on the mooring lines of SKARV FPSO’s internal turret.
With this award the SBM Offshore Group reaffirms its interest and its faith in Cybernetix range of products and services dedicated to the surveillance of offshore structural integrity in complex applications and/or ultra deep waters. This project also represents a key opportunity for our Company to enhance its oil industry reference records with another prestigious project.
Cybernetix designed and developed its Anchor Leg Load Monitoring System (ALLMS) to strengthen its range of Asset Integrity Monitoring (AIM) solutions, primarily as an answer to some specific needs of the worldwide leader in mooring technology. The first set of monitoring systems was delivered to SBM in 2008 for the deep offshore FRADE field in Brazil. The equipment was successfully deployed and commissioned via remote control early 2009.
This new contract award confirms Cybernetix progressing position on this niche market. It is an encouraging milestone in the development strategy that Cybernetix launched two years ago in the Oil and Gas sector.
